Important: Reports cards went home today .
Language Arts:
- Today we worked on identifying the "Relevant Details" in a paragraph and wrote our own details by using a topic sentence.Give me a topic sentence and ask me to write down 3 relevant details e.g there are three main steps to riding a bike .2- Today I am going to the park with my friends .3- Not talking for a whole day would be difficult for me.
- We also reviewed the multiple ways of starting a sentence . A few examples are to start with a "question, simile, onomatopoeia, thrill, and a prepositional verb .
- We wrote our spelling words in our personal dictionaries in alphabetical order.
Spelling Words for the week. Spelling test will be on Friday February 5th.
Grade 3 is focusing on "sh" and academic vocabulary.

Math:
Today we did a check -In by writing a mini test on multiplication .Students were allowed to use their times table sheets for some help. Next test will be written completely independently.

Art:
Our focus in art is to observe keenly an analyze an art work with different techniques.
We have started a new Art project based on Jim Dine's Art techniques.
We learnt that with the "Value" of a color can create dramatic effect and imagery in art. We painted a landscape using "fore ground and background" .Also, with the use of "Monochromatic " color scheme we have added a range of different shades of grey.
It is work in progress.
