Thank you for your patience and understanidng for the absence of blog postings in the last week.
In Room #3 last week we have worked on :
In Language Arts :
- We wrote a tale of a Missing Teacher.It is so much fun to read those tales !!
- We did some journal writing.
- Played a game of "jumbled up words" to figure out the correct word.
- Read the second chapter of our novel and worked on "Reading Comprehension" by answering questions.
- Made some "Silly Sentences" using the word bank provided.
In Math We:
- Worked on solving problems using In put and Out put tables.
- Worked on Word Problmes about growing patterns .
- Reviewed 1 and 2 digit addition
-Practiced putting in the missing number using dice
In Art:
We continued our work on "Elements Of Design" and completed "lines" page in our Visual journals.
In Social Studies we:
- Learned about "Climate vs Weather".
- Wrote a reflection on climate.
- Sketched the negation and animals of the Grasslands.
Today In Room 3 :
- We learned about subject and predicate. Ask me to make a sentence and tell you the subject and the predicate.
- Worked on our Word Work and Spelling literacy centers.
- We did Math centres using "Pattern Task Cards" .Here is an example of a table with In put and Out put .We discussed how to look at these in different ways to figure out the answer. Sometimes we have to reverse the operation get the answer.
We have decided to write our spelling test every 2 weeks .This will give us more time to practice them though multiple literacy activities during the week. The spelling cards were sent home yesterday with students to practice at home.We will be writing our test on Friday,October 16.
