Hello Room #3
We thank all the parents for booking a conference with us and giving us the opportunity to talk about your child's progress at school !
Language Arts : We have been learning about "Poetry" and the rhymes and rhythms poems follow. We have also been making an advertisement to sell the toy we have made in "Wheels and Levers" . We will continue learning about different types of writing ; opinion, story writing and non -fictional writing.
Spelling List for the test on April 9th.
Math: In math, we have started our unit on "Shape and space and Measurement" . This includes learning about different stranded and non stardom unit for measuring time, distance, volume and area. We will also learn conversion of units as well.
Science: We have been researching about different types of 'Pulleys" and their use in daily life .Next ,we will build a pulley and do some simple experiments using it in our classroom.
Social Studies: Currently , we are learning about "India" and its culture and celebrations. We have made a "Holi" art and its looks amazing.
We ask students to collect some items in nature while out for a walk. These could be a twig, a feather or a leaf found on the ground that makes them think about their connection to the Land. These items will be used later on to make a project in connection to our Indigenous learning. If you have an artifact at home that is meaningful to you in relation to your connection to Calgary or another place , please take a picture of it and send me an email.

Updates:
- Students are back to school after spring break on April 6th.
- School consul virtual meeting at 6:30 on April 13th. All parents
welcome to join.
- No School April 26th. PD day.
- Hot soup is served every Tuesday and Thursday.
