Hello Room 3 Team!
Science
Tomorrow we will be building a movable object in our current Science unit "Wheels and Levers". If you have not yet brought 3-4 bottle caps of medium/large sized or buttons with holes in the middle for the project, please bring them in tomorrow.
Math
On Friday, we completed our DREAM (DRop Everything And Math) challenge. We are working on our subtraction skills.
We have been working on "Algebraic Concepts". We find the missing part of a math equation by determining the correct operation. Below is an example of multiplication and division.
Language Arts
We are working on "Persuasive/Opinion" writing. Planning is an important part of writing. We are learning how to use different graphic organizers to plan our thoughts and ideas in a logical order.
We have also been learning about "HOMOPHONES" .Ask me to give you some examples of homophones.
Have you heard of the book Wonder? We are reading it and working hard on our comprehension skills. Ask me about the book.
Social
On Friday, we did a lot of activities and learned lots of new information.
- We completed our passports to start our trip around the world
- We researched important vocabulary to help us throughout our unit:
Vocabulary List- adapt, agriculture, celebrations, communications, diversity, employment, export, goods and services, government, import, manufacturing, peace, public services, quality of life, roles, stories, traditions/customs, transportation
- Identified locations on the map
- Learned some interesting facts about the Canadian flag.
Soon we will be visiting other countries. We are very excited to share our learning with you as we travel.
